Script 2.0

Education is the backbone of any structure, or so I believe. Living in the United States, we are given very strong backbones that guide us through challenges in life and be able to fill positions of leadership in ways that benefit our world. That is great, but there are those places in the world who don't get the chance to achieve that backbone. Many countries lack that educational structure that can guide the youth to be adults who can lead the country. Education is the basis of the upbringing of a child. Each child deserves the right to grow up and follow dreams.According to The State of Our World’s Children (UNICEF), we entered the 21st century with almost a billion individuals unable to read or even sign their own signature. In the words of John F. Kennedy, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other”. He believed that without an education, leadership tends to be bare and, likewise, without a successful structured form of leadership, the chances of gaining any valuable education is scarce. Most of these countries that do have a weak education system tend to be the fruits, or rotten fruits, of a corrupt system of government. Now I have a solution to propose. “Music can change the world because music can change people” (Bono). I wish to create a Non-profit record label, Lasting Sounds Records, that caters to local talent of all genres and any proceeds from concerts, talent shows, music sales, and any other net profit will be used to help create better education systems for those countries such as buying books, and building classrooms and certifying individuals to teach those children.
One day, our world will be in a much better place because we will all have that tool necessary to succeed, Education.
